This is fake. Fall Out Boy is still on hiatus and the lineup for the festival hasn’t been announced yet. They haven’t even confirmed when they’re going to announce the lineup according to twitter.

Status Update:
-Andy is currently working with Enabler. They just finished a tour and are starting tracking on their full length album today (1/17). You can listen to Enabler’s half of their split with Drainland here.
-Joe has finally revealed the details of the mystery project he’s been working on. He’s working with Josh, who was also part of TDT, on With Knives. You can read his recent post about this on his tumblr and follow their twitter for more info. Joe’s tumblr update also covers what’s up with The Damned Things and their future.
-Patrick has been pretty quiet due to him leaving the social networking world because of rude people. It makes him much harder to track, but he has been spotted in the studio working with The King Blues and Kat Graham.
-Pete is still with Black Cards. Contrary to what his confusing message on their website may have led you to believe Black Cards is still going. They’ll be releasing a mixtape soon and are working on original songs. Plans currently involve Pete doing vocals on some songs and guests such as Gabe Saporta and Pat from Train being featured on others.
The what is everyone up to update. Wondering why they just won’t/can’t go back to Fall Out Boy? See above. They’ve all got things going on, things they want to do and aren’t finished with yet. If Fall Out Boy is meant to happen again, it will happen when they feel it is time.
so proud of them
The thing about Patrick is false… He put out an album like… last month I think?
Patrick put out Soul Punk Oct. 18, 2011. He hasn’t released any new music since then. Most recently he’s been in the studio with Craig and TJ of Escape The Fate.

Interviewer: What’s the status of Fall Out Boy? Is it over, or are you guys still calling it an “indefinite hiatus”?
Pete Wentz: I think that it’s no different than it was before. I mean, any time we speak about it at all, people kind of freak out. It’s a hiatus, but if we come back to it, it has to be for the right reasons. Right now, I can’t picture myself doing it. Some kid created a fake Twitter of mine and set the Internet ablaze by saying the hiatus was over the other day. I don’t mean to get people worked up, but all of us are interested in doing different things creatively right now, and the good thing about it is we’re tighter friends now than we ever have been.

This tweet floating around tumblr is fake. FOB is still on hiatus.
18 Bands Ripe For A Reunion
Fall Out Boy (2001-2009)
WHO WERE THEY?: Chicago pop-punkers whose artful irreverence snared plenty of precious metal (gold and platinum) and launched hits such as “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down,” “Dance, Dance” and “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race.” Citing burnout and different creative ambitions, the quartet went on an open-ended hiatus in 2009.
BIGGEST BILLBOARD HIT: Fall Out Boy had three top 10 Billboard Hot 100 singles, including “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s An Arms Race,” which climbed to No. 2.
WILL THEY ROCK AGAIN?: As surely as Pete Wentz wears mascara. The bassist has launched Black Cards, while frontman Patrick Stump has released his dance-flavored first solo album “Soul Punk” and guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley are part of the all-star metal band the Damned Things. “Everybody is just in different directions and doing their own things, but we intend to do the band again,” Stump tells Billboard.com. “But when we do it, we want it to be for its own sake. So it’s about as on the books as, ‘Oh, some day we should do that,’ not like ‘Monday we’ll do it.’ “It’ll happen, though; I’m certain of that.”
9. Why are the FOB dudes doing this?
Fan: Ready for some more FOB dude, make it happen.
Pete : i don’t mean to bum anyone out. i really can’t see it happening right now. saying “make it happen” doesn’t really make me wanna do it. i appreciate how much everyone is into it. it’s funny that people think i am the lone hold out on FOB or that the hiatus was my idea. i get that FOB is what people want and what i am doing with black cards may not be for you. i really need to do this right now. i feel like i am incapable of writing good fob songs right now. i don’t wanna fake it. it seems like when i look around at other artists that have become parodies of themselves and it feels kind of good that we left fob when it still meant something to all of us.
-Pete Wentz, facebook Q&A December 2011
Interviewer: If nothing else, what do you want people to take away from this album?
Patrick: A kid asked me to sign an autograph yesterday and he looked me in the eye and said, “Man, just do FOB”. It was really defeating. There are always going to be those people, but I just want someone to get it. I need this. I need to do this. This means everything now, and I just hope that the music speaks for itself. I hope that the album reminds people why we do this, why music matters, why we fell in love with it in the first place. If nothing else, I hope Soul Punk accomplishes that.
-Patrick Stump, The Horn VA interview
Interviewer: Would you be making solo records if Fall Out Boy was still together?
Patrick: Oh yea. Not in a bad way. It’s kinda hard. A lot of things I say on this subject get taken out of context. Fall Out Boy satisfies my desire to be in Fall Out Boy. This music I’m making, I can’t make it in Fall Out Boy or make something that fulfills me in the same way. Fall Out Boy scratches the Fall Out Boy itch, not the Patrick stump musician/writer itch. I can’t play drums or write lyrics or play trumpet or synth. I can’t sing story songs, or do a lot of things that are very me.
-Patrick Stump, Joonbug interview
“I still love Fall Out Boy and it’s much a part of me, but it’s definitely awesome to just go out there and play guitar how I naturally play; play what I’ve been itching to do for a long time. So it’s nice to go out there and play some really riff-y stuff and maybe rip a couple of leads and solos here and there, and to do some things guitar-wise that would be inappropriate with Fall Out Boy.”
-Joe Trohman, Fender interview
Joe got together with Andy, Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano of Anthrax, and Keith Buckley and Josh Newton of Every Time I Die to form The Damned Things. They put out an album called Ironiclast in December of 2010 and they have a new song featured on the Batman: Arkham City Soundtrack .
Check out the video for We’ve Got a Situation Here.
You can pick up their album here on iTunes or here on Amazon.
The Damned Things are currently on hiatus while the members of Anthrax and ETID work with their bands.
Right now Joe is working on a new mystery project.
Andy is working with Enabler.
Patrick released an EP called Truant Wave in February 2011 and an album called Soul Punk in October 2011. Soul Punk is 100% him. He played every instrument and sang every word minus a remix of This City that features Lupe Fiasco which is a bonus track. The album version of This City is all Patrick.
Check out the video for Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia) here and the video for This City featuring Lupe Fiasco here.
You can pick up Truant Wave here on iTunes or here on Amazon. Soul Punk is available here (the deluxe version is here) on iTunes or here (deluxe version is here) on Amazon.
Pete is working with Bebe Rexha and Spencer Peterson on a project called Black Cards. There is currently no release date for the yet to be titled album. They do put songs and remixes out every so often. Sometimes they’re sneaky about it.
Check out the video for Club Called Heaven here.
You can pick up Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Fame here on iTunes or here Amazon. Their most recent release, a remix of Rihanna’s We Found Love, is also available on iTunes here.
These projects are not meant to replace Fall Out Boy. They are not like Fall Out Boy. No one is expecting you to love them just because you love FOB. It would be awesome if you gave them a chance though and if you listened with an open mind because these projects do mean something to the guys. Even if you aren’t into it, please remember to try to show the guys respect. They’ve more than earned it.
